KENTUCKY HORSEWEAR TAKING PROTECTIVE HORSE BOOTS INTO THE 21ST CENTURY! Kentucky Horsewear was established back in August 2010, yet it is rapidly becoming the 'must have' brand, for protective horse boots across all disciplines. With a growing band of top international riders riding, training and competing in the boots, including international names such as Bettina Hoy, Eiken Sato, Lars Nieberg, Harrie Smolders, Shane Breen and UK event riders Francis Whittington and Laura Collette, the company already sells its collection throughout Europe, the USA and Australia. The name is a licence of the famous German clothing brand Kentucky Reitmoden established in 1961. Both companies are run separately and only share the same brand name/logo and distribution network worldwide. The Kentucky Horsewear offices are based in Belgium, under young entrepreneur, Kentucky Horsewear owner and MD Thomas Tuytens' watchful eye. An experienced horseman and event rider, Thomas Tuytens studied marketing in Breda in Holland, before moving to China at the age of 23 where he opened the Shanghai office of Concordia Textiles, his Belgium based family business specialized in manufacturing technical fabrics such as Cordura and Kevlar for Military, Medical and work wear applications. In 2007 he also opened the new production plant in Suzhou (China) for Concordia Textiles. In 2009, frustrated by the lack of technical equine products available on the market, Thomas Tuytens decided to marry his passion for textiles and horses and sought to create technically advanced protective horse wear with a difference. Working with professional riders and industry experts, whilst having direct access to the best textile materials (fabrics) in the world, meant that Thomas had the knowledge and contacts to develop horse boots like nothing else ever seen before. In 2010 he bought the licence of Kentucky Horsewear in Germany and the worldwide exclusivity of three patented technologies: D3O, Solimbra and Recuptex. With a company ethos firmly on "producing the best: as oppose to simply being 'the biggest', Thomas is adamant that this won't change, regardless of the anticipated company growth. "My focus has always been to specialise in exceptional horse leg protection and to become in time, hopefully a benchmark to which other brands aspire to. With a growing collection of protective and therapeutic horse boots and healthy sales growth worldwide, will the Kentucky Horsewear collection look to move into other areas in the future? Never say never but Kentucky Horsewear really wants to focus and be the reference in horse leg protection worldwide. MORE INFO: http://www.kentucky-horseshop.com/about/

He helped Kentucky win the NCAA Championship in 1996 and was part of the Miami Heat’s 2006 NBA Championship, but Derek Anderson wishes someone would have told him 25 years ago the importance of building his brand early, and how to do it. “If someone could have told me like what (INFLCR) is doing, or can help me out, that would have pushed my life and career, everything, on, because, I wouldn’t have had to do so much,” Anderson said. “When you get that opportunity to do it at 18 that literally saves years on your career, your life, your business, so I could literally retire from anything probably at 35 or 36, because you’ve doubled 18 years of experience, that’s the key to winning. Experience is the greatest teacher you’ve ever had. I’d tell myself go build a brand now.” Today, Anderson (@DerekLAnderson) has used Kentucky’s brand to build a brand that helps develop youth through the Stamina Foundation’s Program You with a mission to change the way people think and equip them with life skills and how to have common courtesy, respect and value of self. University of Kentucky basketball, which is using INFLCR to organize, equip and develop its student-athletes, alumni and staff for social media branding, is one of the most successful programs in helping its student-athletes get drafted by the NBA, producing 118 overall draft picks and 46 first round selections all-time. Since 2010, the Big Blue Nation has produced 24 first round selections. INFLCR founder and CEO Jim Cavale recently caught up with Anderson and three other Kentucky first round picks at Rupp Arena to talk about the importance of brand building and social media. Anderson, who was the No. 1 pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, says in the days prior to social media “you’d have to text a thousand people or call them to let them know I’m at the Kentucky Regional. But now you have easier access on how you can make it better, so now use the platform that way.” Eric Bledsoe (@EBled2), a 2010 first round selection and now seven-year NBA veteran, says the best advice he gives about social media is to “do the same thing you do on the court. Respect yourself on the court, respect yourself off the court.” Four-time NBA All-Star Rajon Rondo (@RajonRondo) said self-editing is key when posting on social media. “If you’ve got to think twice about posting it, then you probably shouldn’t post it,” said Rondo, who was a member of the Boston Celtics’ 2008 NBA championship team. “If you don’t know, ask someone that’s older. Ask your coach. He’ll probably say no, but I always get good advice, you know. So you don’t have to go backwards and dig yourself out of a hole.” Karl-Anthony Towns (@KarlTowns), who was selected No. 1 overall in 2015 and named the 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year for the Minnesota Timberwolves says “social media is a great way of interacting with fans and posting stuff and promoting my business. “When I look at social media, I look at it as a tool to enhance the player that is on the court and off the court as well. I think it’s a great way to start relationships and build them, and also give a chance to the fans to really feel connected with you.” Having lived through the pre-social media era, Anderson also says it is still important to build a brand the traditional way by how you interact one-on-one, while utilizing social media as a way to communicate to the masses. “I walk in an arena, no matter if it’s away or home, and I speak to people. I think people remember how you made them feel more than what they see on the court, because they’re going to see a bunch of guys come onto the court,” Anderson said. “Always be mindful that you’ve got to interact with people so they know that you’re able to be approached, and that’s the same thing I tell the kids, if they can approach you, they’ll give you a job. As opposed to the person that never speaks.” About Jim Cavale Jim Cavale has been an entrepreneur since college when he co-founded a sports TV/Radio streaming network for his university, and then created a product to sell to other universities to help them stream their sporting events. Sarah Cornette-Ching gets clipped by a lap car going down the backstretch in the middle of the race and turns her into the outside retaining wall then proceeds to go almost dead straight on into the inside wall. Luckily she walked away ok. Part Three of Barrage of Bourbon - WhiskyWhistle host Mark goes back, way back to perhaps the 70's or even the 60's - a different era of Bourbon, Antique Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky. If you enjoyed the review please SUBSCRIBE now! From Mark Patton of the Korea Bourbon Club: I did some more poking around to find some information on that label, and dug up a mishmash of information, some of which may be out of order or somewhat loose in terms of timeline. 1. (Mike Veach, 2000) "Antique Bourbon is one of the major brands for Frankfort Distillery, Inc. This company was founded in 1902 when several rectifying companies merged. Their portfolio included Old Oscar Pepper, Mattingly and Moore and Antique brands. Their distillery was near the forks of the Elkhorn creek near Frankfort but their main sales office was in Louisville. In 1920 they were one of the six companies to receive a permit to sell medicinal whiskey. In 1922 the Paul Jones Company acquired Frankfort Distillery but changed its name to Frankfort Distillery, Inc. to maintain the permit to sell whiskey during prohibition. This added Paul Jones and Four Roses brands to the portfolio. In 1933 the company bought the old Stitzel Distillery on Main Street in Louisville when Stitzel-Weller was formed in Shively. In 1943 Lawrence Jones died and the company was sold to Joseph E. Seagram & Sons. In the 1960's Seagram dissolved the company. The distillery on Main Street was closed in the 1950's and the Four Roses Distillery in Shively was closed in the 1960's." 2. "Antique" seems to have been bounced around the brand portfolio, as there is a Weller "Antique" as well, and I have located bottles posted in secondary market sales that have no primary brand - just "Antique Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey" bottled by Frankfort Distilling. 3. Some of the comments I ran across also speculate that for some time, distillers were using "Antique" to describe their process, as they now use "Small Batch" and "Single Barrel" today. This probably would have denoted that they were sticking to legacy yeast strains and distilling in smaller batches, in copper pot stills, in the era when volume producers were switching to column stills. Either way, that's a real esoteric find, and if we go by Mike Veach's timeline above, could have been bottled in the 1960s and been floating around all this time!
